Selfmade Ninja Labs — Community Guidelines (draft)

Status: stub. The section anchors below are the stable machine identifiers that moderation reasons + the AI reason polisher link to. Fill the body in as policy is drafted. Anchors must match htdocs/src/lib/labs/discussion/ModerationReason.class.php's anchor field.

Posts, answers, and comments can be removed (by moderators) or hidden (by club moderators) when they fall into one of the categories below. Authors are always notified with a plain-English reason and can request review from the tombstone page.

Off-topic for this club

To be filled in. Clubs are affinity groups with a declared topic. Posts that fall outside that scope may be hidden here and asked to be moved to a more relevant club. Hiding is recoverable — delete is reserved for the club owner or platform moderators.

Low quality / not enough detail

To be filled in. Posts should carry enough context (code, error message, what you tried, what the expected outcome was) for other members to engage meaningfully.

Spam or self-promotion

To be filled in. Promotional content, affiliate links, and repeated unsolicited posts are removed on sight.

Duplicate of an existing post

To be filled in. Check whether the question has already been asked and answered before posting. Duplicates are closed with a link to the canonical thread.

Unsafe / violates safety policy

To be filled in. Content that promotes real-world harm, unauthorised system intrusion outside the platform's deliberate lab scope, or breaks the platform's safety policy is removed.

Harassment or personal attacks

To be filled in. Personal attacks, slurs, targeted harassment, doxxing, or sustained hostility toward other members are removed and the author's moderation record noted.

Copied without attribution

To be filled in. Posts must credit original sources when reproducing substantial external content (tutorials, blog posts, papers, other members' writing).

Other

To be filled in. Escape hatch for moderator actions that don't fit the categories above. Requires a free-text note from the moderator, which is AI-polished before it reaches the author.

How removal + appeals work

• Hide (club moderators): same deleted:true flag as delete; the club owner or a platform moderator can later unhide. Intended as a reversible pause.
• Delete (club owner, platform admin, platform moderator): final removal. Author is notified with the polished reason and can request review from the tombstone.
• Appeal: author clicks "Disagree & request review" on the tombstone → the appeal lands in the shared review queue at /admin/reports/discussion.

Club-scoped moderators appointed by a club owner have authority only within that club. Platform moderators are a systemwide role granted by an admin and can moderate across every club. Neither role gets any admin surface beyond the review queue + the moderation chip on posts.
